The 1 July 2026 salaries are the last increase written into the agreement, which operates to 30 June 2027. Any later rise depends on a replacement agreement; the parties are required to begin negotiating six months before expiry.
Officers in charge of stations (Schedule H positions) and sergeants on the grandfathered Category A, B and C scales are paid from separate rows of clause 10.1 that are higher than the base rows shown here.

Every salary links to its take-home figure. Take-home pages exist for every $1,000 up to $150,000 and in wider steps above that, so a salary without a page of its own links to the nearest one.
Recruit and trainee police pay
Recruits-in-Training are paid $74,309 a year from 1 July 2026 under clause 10.1 of the agreement ($71,623 from 1 July 2025).
Shift penalties, loadings and allowances
Base salary is not the whole of it: police officers on rotating rosters are paid extra for shift work. In summary, from the Western Australia Police Force Industrial Agreement 2024:
- Shift allowance (clause 16.1), per ordinary eight-hour shift from 1 July 2026: $74.11 for a Saturday or Sunday day shift, $84.35 for an afternoon shift, $101.13 for an evening shift and $126.56 for a night shift. Shifts of other lengths are paid pro rata.
- Shift types (clause 11.7): afternoon shifts start 11am–4:30pm, evening shifts 5pm–7:30pm and night shifts 8pm–5:30am.
- Recruits-in-Training and commissioned officers are excluded from the clause 16.1 shift allowance except as the agreement provides.
Check the instrument for the exact conditions that apply to your roster. Overtime is worked out separately — the overtime pay calculator handles time and a half and double time.
What a WA police officer salary is worth after tax
Every salary in the tables links to its take-home figure. Start with take-home pay on $95,000 for the entry rate or take-home pay on $125,000 for the top of the scale. Those figures cover base salary only; shift penalties and allowances are taxed as ordinary income on top.
Employer superannuation is paid on top of these salaries. For your own pay including penalties, a study loan or salary packaging, use the take-home pay calculator or the WA pay calculator.
What this page does not show
We publish only what we could read from a primary source. These are left off rather than estimated:
- Officer-in-charge, Category A/B/C sergeant, Aboriginal Police Liaison Officer and Superintendent/Commander rows are in the agreement but not reproduced here.

How this page is sourced▼
Every salary on this page was read from the Western Australia Police Force Industrial Agreement 2024 or WA Police Force’s own published pay table on 24 September 2026, and applies from 1 July 2026. Nothing is estimated, averaged or interpolated. Where the instrument publishes a weekly or fortnightly rate, the annual figure is that rate multiplied out and the published rate is shown in the notes column.
Take-home figures come from the site’s own calculator using ATO rates for the current income year.
